Chicken Shooting File To DPP Soon

The Police will be compiling a file on the Labasa chicken shooting incident soon to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecution’s (DPP) office for sanctioning.

This was confirmed by the Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro yesterday.

“A 45-year-old man of Benau, Labasa was questioned and released last Thursday for allegedly using his rifle to shoot his neighbour’s chickens for trespassing into his compound,” Ms Naisoro said.

“The incident occurred on Boxing Day and it is alleged the suspect out of frustration that his neighbour’s chickens kept trespassing into his compound, used his rifle to shoot the chickens.

“We will be compiling a file on this before sending it to DPP’s office for sanctioning.

Ms Naisoro has made a request to members of the public to control their emotions and learn to talk about their issues instead of resorting to violence.
