Dolce Sounds Fiji serenaded passengers on board the big cruise liner, MS Noordam while it was berthed at Lautoka on Thursday.

The 10 member group combining traditional dance and iTaukei folk songs performed at the Vista Lounge theatre on board for a one hour show alongside the Oceania Dancers of the University of the South Pacific.

Passengers were treated to traditional dances and singing by the group.

“To finish the year with a performance on an international stage as such, gives a very satisfying feeling,” said choir member, Jeffrey Moceiwasa.

Mr Moceiwasa said an official of the 82,300 tonne MS Noordam later commended the group and said the performance was energetic and one of a kind. The ship has a capacity to carry 1918 passengers with a crew of 820.

The Dolce Sounds has performed on various platforms including local festivals, pageants, weddings, and village gatherings and have also featured in theatres of the Holland America cruise liners that visit Fiji’s ports.

The musical group was formed by the Alumni of the Conservatorium of Music back in 2013.
