21-year-old Man In Hospital After Accident

A 21-year-old man is in a stable condition in hospital from injuries he sustained yesterday from an accident at the Laqere junction in Nasinu.

Colonial War Memorial hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Jemesa Tudravu confirmed that the victim James Cama was admitted at the Tailevu Namosi Ward.

“He has suffered injuries to his face, limbs and is currently stable in the hospital,” Dr Tudravu said.

According to a witness who wished to remain anonymous, Mr Cama got off the bus on a red light at the Laqere junction and was crossing over to the opposite side when he was allegedly hit by a minibus.

“It was on red light, we stopped at the red light and he got off the bus. When he got to the front of the bus, then suddenly it went to green light,” the eyewitness said.

He said both the vehicles were travelling in the same direction towards Suva.

“We did not get off the bus, we just saw him lying on the road going to Nepani. He was lying on the road and there was blood on his face and on the right lane,” he said.
