Government vessel MV Iloilovatu will leave today for Vabea, Kadavu to bring back passengers who chartered it to spend Christmas and New Year at their village.

Government fleet superintendent Ratu Iliesa Raketekete confirmed this yesterday.

He said as soon as it arrived in Suva, it would go straight to Rotuma to bring passengers who chartered the vessel to spend Christmas and New Year on the island.

Meanwhile the MV Cagivou was also chartered by the people of Maloku, Moala.

It left for Moala yesterday to bring back its passengers.

A total of 100 passengers went on the chartered trip and this was confirmed by Josese Lawaniyasana, the director Government Shipping Services.

All these government vessels had been instructed by the director GSS not to bring extra passengers.
