The bulk carrier MV Festival left for the Solomon Islands yesterday after unloading 24,000 tonnes of cement in Fiji.

Carpetners Shipping boarding officer Tomu Raturaga said initially only 22,000 tonnes of cement were to be off loaded but there was a change of plan.

The MV Festival arrived into the country on December 16.

It did not berth at the Suva Port but anchored opposite Harbor Point at Lami to unload.

The unloading he said finished yesterday and the MV Festival had sailed to the Solomon Islands.

Mr Raturaga said the bulk carrier was supposed to leave on December 29.
