Vodafone Fijian 7s head coach Gareth Baber will continue to search for new players to be part of the 2016/2017 World Sevens Series.

“I will always be searching for more players as there is a wealth of talent in Fiji,” Baber said.

“We need to do things right and there is no guaranteed spot for anyone.

“Looking forward to this to the World Sevens Series, hopefully as long as I’m here I will be creating a new environment.”

Baber has spoken to Fiji Rugby Union regarding the contracts for the players and believes it was a process that had to be done properly.

“I have spoken with FRU chief executive officer John O’Connor, this is the process that has to be done properly,” he said.

“When we go to Wellington it will be good to have that in position for the group so that we can go out and perform.”

The Wellington 7s is set for January 28 and 29 and Fiji is pooled with South Africa, Japan and Australia.
