Maharaj: Customer Service A 2017 Priority

Providing better customer service is paramount for the Land Transport Authority this year.
This was revealed by LTA board chairman, Vijay Maharaj, as the authority is in the process of implementing an online system that has already completed its first phase.
Mr Maharaj said by April or May, the second and third phase will be implemented.
Their main focus now is to have more dealings done online and this will avoid long queues at LTA offices.
“It is one of the main things we are fully pursuing at the moment,” Mr Maharaj said.
He said they would try to make LTA as efficient as possible and providing customer satisfaction is their goal for this year.
Challenges the authority have faced are traffic congestions and overloading of vehicles.
The latter he said has bought a lot of damages to the roads and LTA has been working closely with Fiji Roads Authority to address it.
He said the installation of cameras on our roads have made drivers more wary about over speeding and such installations has minimised the innocent loss of lives on our roads.
“We are planning to install more cameras on various hot spots that accidents usually occur around the country,” he said.
Mr Maharaj advises all drivers to drive carefully and sensibly and that LTA has a duty that such accidents are avoided
