Throwing Of Water On To Moving Vehicle Is A Health Risk: Police

Celebrations for New Year still continues around the country.
For some of us this celebrations is kept within the perimeters of our compound because of the respect we have for those around us.
Sadly for others they have decided to take their celebrations to the roadside and even onto the road showing no respect to others and ignorance on their part.
Throwing of water on to moving vehicles is not only dangerous, this has become a public nuisance and life threatening to drivers and passengers. There is also a health risk because some are throwing dirty water into moving vehicles.
Innocent drivers are at risk and a serious accident, serious injury, or a loss of life could be the result of this reckless act.
Numerous reports have been received on the throwing of water on to moving vehicles in various police stations around the country. Some drivers are reporting directly to the Police Command and Coordinating Center in Suva.
We are reminded that someone could be arrested and appropriate charges could be made if properties are damaged and people are victimized.
For parents and guardians we have noticed that juveniles are playing on the road unsupervised. These are young people below the age of eighteen [18] and if they commit an unlawful act someone could be charged on negligence. Be reminded the law is there to protect us so let’s celebrate within the perimeters of the law.
