Police Inspector Jokatama Qio yesterday confirmed to the Fiji Sun that the 23-year-old woman believed to have been brutally assaulted and raped just off Holland Street, Toorak, a week ago was discharged from hospital.
The Police are now waiting for her to undergo counselling help before interviewing her, because of the brutality which had left her traumatised.
“When she’s ready she will give us her statement, otherwise we will need to give her more time to rest,” he said.
The Police will follow up on leads that they already have once the victim gives her statement, he said.
“No arrest has been done yet, and investigation on this case is ongoing,” he said.
