Minister for Fisheries Visits West Stations

Minister for Fisheries Semi Koroilavesau was touring fisheries stations in the Western Division to meet with officers and to encourage them of their roles and responsibilities.
The visit started at Namarai Fisheries Station in the Ra Province and Caboni Multi-Species Hatchery Station.
“We are trying our best to begin with rehabilitation works to the infrastructure that was damaged last year by Tropical Cyclone Winston. I know you will think we have forgotten about you, but I want to reassure you that we will soon begin with repair works and so forth,” Mr Koroilavesau said.
“We were not the only stations that suffered greatly from the aftermath of TC Winston. People around the country are still trying to pick up the pieces of their lives,” he added.
“Government is trying it’s best to help everyone and I want to assure you, my officers on the ground, that repair works to our offices will be carried out soon.
“Continue with the good work you have been carrying out, especially in the delivery of our services to our stakeholders,” he said.
There are a total of five ice plant machines in the Western Division which are operating to date.
The Minister will also be visiting Ba, Tavua, Lautoka, Nadi and Sigatoka stations during the week. His official tour ended yesterday.
