Waqavonovono To Reveal Proposed Party Name Today

Youth activist Peter Waqavonovono is expected to reveal the name of their proposed political party today.
Mr Waqavonovono resigned from the SODELPA as a member in June last year, after being cited to be disappointed with the lack of youth activism within the party.
He said that they had begun the process of registration.
Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem confirmed that an application was before the Fijian Elections Office.
However, he was not in a position to divulge who was trying to register this party.
Mr Waqavonovono said the proposed party was driven by young Fijians and some of Fiji’s most seasoned leaders.
“Currently the proposed entity is driven by young Fijians and some of Fiji’s most seasoned leaders, all people who believe in democracy and believe in service for the people of Fiji without bias,” he said.
Mr Waqavonovono added they are willing to co-operate with other political parties on genuine reasons.
“If they are genuine – let’s talk, the fact that were not even a Party yet, and the Fiji First Party and SODELPA are worried about us must mean something about our relevance,” he said.
Mr Waqavonovono said they would reveal their agenda after they are formally registered as an official entity.
“At the moment we have not faced any challenge and we have finished with all the discussions now we are moving to formally register,” he said.
“I’ve been attacked, censored, arrested, tried in a Court of Law, denied exit out of Fiji, denied access to regional and national youth meetings.
“I have been kicked off a judging panel for a beauty pageant, I have always kept moving and now I answer the call of my supporters and I move to set up a Political Party they can support and that can build a stronger Fiji,” he said
