“I was in school when Fijian Table Tennis president Anthon Ho and officials paid a visit,”Lasi said.

“I’ve learned a lot and I mixed around with other children with disability and it’s a good experience.

“They taught me the rules of the game and how to play and I’m a better person taking part.”

Ho said Saturday was the last day for the high performance clinic.

“The main competition starts on Tuesday and the Fiji Open and Para Open finishes on Saturday.

“Players will take part in the singles and doubles, and age category for Under12, U15,U18 and U21.

“There is also category for disability both wheelchair and standing and we also created a special event called the Special Olympics for children with intellectual disability.

“So there are 40 events and it caters for everyone in respective of their standard or your ability.

“We’re also awaiting overseas players and we are excited to see some great matches both in the junior and senior category.”
