Telecom Fijiana 7s rugby coach, Iliesa Tanivula is focusing on next weekend’s Mana Whey Coral Coast tournament at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.

“There are two or three girls who I want to look at as we march into camp,” he said.

“We are preparing for next week and hopefully other teams are prepared for it too. I’ll be looking at the girls and I hope they are fit enough to make it to the team and step-up for international level and focus on the task ahead. We have done three weeks of training and we have done a lot of work. The girls have done incentive works for the last three weeks of training with the boys at Uprising Resort, so that’s another boost to the girls fitness which was good.

“Last week we were supposed to have our fitness test but due to bad weather condition and wet grounds we had to postpone it. But hopefully this week the weather will hold up and we will get on with our fitness test but the girls are looking good physically and hopefully we keep stepping up every time we come for training.”

Tanivula said hopefully two or three players would be joining their squad of 18 players this week.
