Four-Car Smash At Nadi Back Road

Poonam Rao, 32, was in shock after witnessing an accident outside her home along the Nadi Back Road yesterday.
Ms Rao was doing some house chores when the incident involving four vehicles happened at around 3pm.
The accident yesterday came just one day after three separate car accidents were recorded on Wednesday – one near the Nadi International Airport intersection, the second in Barara Flat, and the third at Malamala, off the Queens Highway.
At the Nadi Back Road, it is alleged the driver of a car, heading to Lautoka veered on to the other lane.
It first hit the side of a second vehicle before hitting a third and fourth vehicles.
“I heard a couple of loud bangs, and then it came to halt. I thought that a big driver was involved and crash into my house,” she said.
“I was terrified to see what happened but children were inside but no major injuries.”
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the incident. They have questioned and released the driver of the car that started it.
“Four vehicles were involved, but there were no serious injuries. Police are trying to get more information on what happened,” Ms Naisoro said.
Police are again advising drivers to be cautious on the road.
