Namosi rugby prop Iokobo Bose is delighted to be nominated among the best 15s player for the Fiji Rugby Awards Night at the Novotel Suva Lami Bay Hotel tomorrow night.

The other nominees are Eremasi Radrodro of Nadroga and Serupepeli Vularika of Suva.

“It was a pleasant surprise for me and I want to thank Namosi Rugby, Fiji Rugby and God for making me a better person through rugby,” Bose said.

He began playing rugby at Namosi Primary, Namosi Secondary and did not participate in any major schools competition. He dropped out of school in Year Nine.

At 19, he moved to Suva and joined the Valelevu Police rugby team where he was moulded by former national captain Salacieli Naivilawasa.

“I want to thank Naivilawasa for guiding me,” Bose said.

“He changed my position from scrumhalf to prop.”

He joined Namosi in 2001 and has been playing for his provincial team ever since.

He played for the Police Sukuna Bowl team in 2013-2016 and is married with six children.

The 36- year old believes staying fit is paramount.

“My aim now is to stay fit and I thank my family for being supportive towards my rugby career.” Edited by Osea Bola
