Moonlike crater a Mini-swimming pool

The moonlike crater on the hill of Adi Davila Rd, Davuilevu Housing, near Nausori, continues to gain notoriety for giving motorists hell.

And the residents are asking: “Who will fill up this big pothole? Who is the responsible authority? Is it the Fiji Roads Authority’s or  the Nausori Town Council’s job?”

Their hopes jumped when they saw cones and noticed men at work.

But their heart sank when they discovered they were apparently for a different purpose.

Taxi problem

A taxi base in Suva needs a good shake-up and refresher course in customer service.

People were queuing up for taxis but right in front of them five taxis were parked with no sign of the drivers. One of the drivers said he was taking a rest every two hours.

If the taxis cannot provide the service people want, then it is any wonder that there are many pirate taxis around providing a service that the legal taxis cannot give?

Secondly, the base system rules appear to promote this type of attitude problem to the detriment of customers wanting swift and efficient service.

The other option is to get rid of the base rules and allow other taxis to come in and provide the service that people want.

The Land Transport Authority should tell these taxis: Shape up or ship out.

Lost goods

Some people are beginning to wonder what exactly are the roles of freight companies. Upon collection of goods sent a few days ago from Aussie via airmail, a man got a shock when one of the two cartons was replaced by a sack of clothes.

Upon enquiry he was told the carton and the sack had the same tracking numbers. He refused to take the sack, but the renowned shipping agency has told him to that he is left with no choice, but to take it or wait for a response.
