The Minister for Industry, Trade, and Tourism Faiyaz Koya commended the Supercuts company for “raising the bar in men’s hairdressing.”

Mr Koya was speaking at the launch of a fifth branch of the top-end men’s hair grooming outlet in the new FNPF Plaza on Grieg Street in Suva.

“An industrious young Fijian, who has done well for himself,” is how Mr Koya described Supercuts proprietor Faizal Hussein.

Initially, a sugarcane farmer from Seaqaqa in Labasa, Mr Hussein came to Suva from the North in 1997 with a mere $40 in his pocket.

Twenty years later and with the spirit of entrepreneurship, he has accumulated an investment portfolio of hairdressing outlets.

Mr Hussein said: “This could, in time, open up opportunities in other parts of Fiji.”

With a high-profile clientele to the usual customer work-ins from the street, Supercuts is the first men’s barber shop in Fiji with a dedicated VIP room.

Customers can enjoy a haircut in air conditioned comfort.

Supercuts has branches in Mead Road, Nabua, Vanua Arcade, Damodar City, World Harvest Centre, and now at the new FNPF Plaza.
