The 2017 Vodafone Premier League competition gets underway on January 28. This was confirmed last night by Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Bob Kumar.

Kumar also indicated that Nadroga are going to demoted to the Senior Division.

“The Fiji FA board met and looked into Nadroga’s protest before they decided to disallow it,” he said.

Newly promoted district Rakiraki Football Association is preparing for their annual general meeting to be held on January 29.

Rakiraki FA president, Shaneel Gounder said, from the AGM they are going to elect their office bearers before their local league competition kicks-off on February 1.

“Right now we are talking with the Fiji National Rugby League on the possibility for us to stage our home games at the Ra Sports Complex,” Gounder said.

Meanwhile, the Vodafone Fijian Under-17 side opened their New Zealand tour with a 1-1 draw against Kiwi Maoris in Auckland yesterday.
