Heading back to Taveuni and looking forward to his final year in secondary school is Esala Surumi of .

The Year 13 student was paying for his boat fare yesterday morning after spending the school holidays with relatives in Suva.

He was accompanied by his older brother, Lepani Bataba, and a nephew, Luke Bataba, making final travel arrangements before he left.

Esala wants to follow in his older brother’s footsteps and pursue further studies at the University of the South Pacific.

He aspires to take up a career in architecture and is ready to take up the challenge of the new academic year. He is the second youngest of four siblings.

He left for Taveuni yesterday at 4pm on board the Lomaiviti Princess I and is expected to arrive in Taveuni today.

Most maritime bound students were doing their last minute shopping, packing, and travelling yesterday.
