Kindergarten Opens In Sakoca

A new kindergarten in Sakoca opened yesterday was recommended by chief guest Education Minister Mahendra Reddy.
The Amazing Grace Kindergarten with an allocation of 120 students was highly commended for the neighbourhood by Mr Reddy.
“The students have to travel a bit far from home to go to Tamavua Primary School for their early childhood education,” Mr Reddy said.
“We want children from the same community be able to go to a school near their homes.”
The 120 places are divided into two sessions with the four teachers.
He said the ministry looked at the importance of the locality of the kindergarten in the community.
“First concern of the ministry is the safety of the children and that is why we have the expansion going on at Tacirua Primary School as well as the kindergarten here,” he said.
“I think given the massive population in the community, we will have a fully functional primary school here for the community members and their children.
“This year we have invested in the kindergarten but next year we will work on constructing Year 1 and 2.
“These are some plans that we are looking ahead for the people of Fiji.
“We recognise the demand of the people and we respond accordingly and to better the future of Fiji and its children.”
26-year-old mother, Marica Bogidrau was one of those many parents whose children have started at Amazing Grace Kindergarten.
Her son, Rafael Tuvarani, 5, was enjoying his time at the new institution.
