Nauga Seals Win For Tuva

Skipper Alivereti Nauga led by example as his  Tuva side beat Kings 7s Select 7-0 in the final of the Uprising Youth 7s at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka yesterday.

The son of BLK Nadroga rugby head coach Esala Nauga, he scored the winning try after a scoreless first half.

“The win has really motivated us as we look forward to the other tournaments later in the year,” he said.

The Kings 7s Select is made up Fijian U20 reps including Peniasi Yavabale Ratu, Ratu Kinivuai Veitata, Timoci Tavatavanawai and skippered by Temo Suka.

“We only trained for three weeks and we thanked the Lord for giving us the strength to pull through,” Nauga said.

Tuva won $7500 while Kings 7s Select settled for $3500.

In the semifinals Tuva Youth upset defending champions Lelean Memorial School 12-0 while Kings 7s Select beat Ratu Kadavulevu School 12-7.
