Education Empowerment

Joan McGoon,  Nadi

As the spotlight turns to the empowerment of education at the beginning of this year, let us not forget the current older generation who were deprived of such opportunities because of the lack of institutions and funds back in the day.

Many of these individuals took to the workforce instead of furthering their education because of the lack of opportunities available and as they have been empowered to finally fund their education, hopefully our new institutions will accept them and embrace them as they also bring their practical knowledge to class forums.

As the older and new generations are empowered to balance their practical and theoretical knowledge, the productivity of the country will improve immensely as confidence and motivational levels increase.

The only thing you can’t teach is common sense and this is something that needs to be discovered. Hopefully, not within the workplace.
