Pasifika Voices will be taking their choir and productions to the next level, this year.

Pasifika Voices director Igelese Ete said the success of the Disney film Moana, last year was a proud moment for Fiji and the Pacific.

“We have very exciting projects this year and so we are trying to build a team of 20,” he said.

Mr Ete said they’ll be recording their first official album in the next three months, which would have a Fijian and Pacific flavour to it.

The choir will mark its 10th year anniversary as well.

“The main project is the Hollywood tour in July and taking our production there and we’re also in talks of getting actor Dwayne Johnson to endorse the production.”

Mr Ete said from July onwards, the choir was expected to tour the United States, Europe, Asia, South Korea, China, and New Zealand.

Plans are in the pipeline to take Pasifika Voices to Broadway in New York and having a Malaga movie production as well.

The group currently has 12 members and they are now holding auditions.

Mr Ete continues to encourage people who have a passion about using their voices to inspire others to come forward and develop it.

The auditions start tomorrow to January 25 at the Oceania Centre for Arts and Culture at the University of the South Pacific in Laucala Bay, Suva.
