The Pramesh Prasad captained- Stallion Y Maro team will be in full force when they defend the Island Pacific Apparel Futsal title at the Nadi Muslim College grounds, this weekend.

The side have been laced with Nadroga players like goalkeeper Pramesh Prasad, Vineet Singh, Jared Voi and stylish midfielder Jeshal Kumar.

However, they will be missing the services of 2015 Golden Boot winner and national football striker Anish Khem who has moved to Labasa.

Team manager Vikash Prasad said that it would be a difficult task to retain the title, as all teams would be gunning for them.

“We have been preparing well from last year but it was postponed. We are trying our level best to bring everyone to train together. It’s an issue because these boys are now employed. We will try and work out something for them to come and participate in the tournament since they are very passionate about it,” said Prasad.

They are in Pool C where they face Breeze Marketing Cosmos 3, North Pole friends, and D.D.K Boys.

“Just looking at the pool draws and the 64 teams that will take part we know we are in for a tough battle. Also other teams will be in full force and we will not take them lightly,” he said.

Prasad was grateful to Sharma Shopping Centre for sponsoring the team for the two- day tournament. The Sigatoka based-club beat 4R Men in Black 3-1 in the final last year.
