Fiji Roll Ball Prepares For World Cup

The Fiji Roll Ball Association has started off with the trials for the next Roll Ball World Cup to be held at the end of next month in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The trials are being held at the Netball Court in Laucala Bay in Suva.
Association president, Raizal Haniff, is calling on those with the ability to skate to join them in the trials.
While the biggest requirement for Roll Ball is the player needs to know how to skate, the rules and other details of the sport will be explained to the players at the trials.
Haniff said training will be held at 6pm daily.
This will be the second Roll Ball World Cup the Fiji team will be participating in. The Fijian team first were selected to represent the country in Pune, India in 2015.
Haniff said the senior boys team which went to India have had international exposure and will be able to pass on the knowledge to the newcomers.
“I’m sure the senior boys will be there to teach the newcomers the art of Roll Ball,” he said.
“This is the second Roll Ball World Cup Fiji will be taking part in and we are very excited.
“In the past world cup, we managed to qualify into the second round despite tough competition from teams with professional skaters.
“However, we are confident, with the proper training over the next month, we will have a good team ready to represent the country in Bangladesh.”
