Coaches Learn More

Nadroga Zone coordinator Etuate Nauro knows better now on how to prepare a team after attending the Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) coaching clinic on Friday,
“As coaches we are just focusing on training and getting players fit,”Nauro said.
“We are missing out on the basics like ball handling, tackling and rules of the game.
“The clinic has improved my knowledge as a coach. I have a young Coastal Owls team and I’m looking forward to share and impart what I’ve learnt.”
He pleaded for FNRL to help in finding sponsors for the club.
“A lot of young players don’t have a job and they need financial support.
“Nadroga has eight clubs and four Under-17 teams that make up the zone.
“We need sponsors to cater for our clubs and players.”
Meanwhile, Petero Civoniceva Foundation U16 coach Peni Tubakibau was grateful for the clinic.
“The clinic is good for all the coaches because this world is a learning centre. You learn new things everyday so this is a great opportunity for coaches. I now know how to programme training session,” Tubakibau said.
A total of 30 participants from all over the country took part in the coaching clinic.
