The Mark Rokobuli captained- Lautoka All Stars Masters came from behind to hold an impressive Sadhai DCA Master side 2-2 in the Fiji Sun Masters category.

It was a thriller as former district reps were at loggerheads despite their age catching up. Lautoka All Stars fielded the likes of former national football striker Bakalevu Moceimereke, Maika Waqa, and Rokobuli.

But Sadhai DCA Masters took a 1-0 lead at half time through Afzal Ali’s goal.

The Lautoka All Stars equalised through Rajeshwar Lal. They took the lead when Waqa scored but Sharif Azam showed his class to score Sadhai DCA Masters second goal.

Rokobuli said they would need to be more cohesive in today’s semi-final.

“We were a bit scrappy in the first match and were really tested.

“We thought that there is going to be less contact but there was a lot. We have a good team and need to work on a few things for our next match if we are to win this inaugural event in style,” added the former Lautoka rep.

DCA Masters skipper Ali said they would work harder in their next match.

“It was bit of luck on our side but we will bounce back tomorrow,” he said.
