Youths Occupy Special Place In The Nation

We as a nation are making inroads into creating better opportunities and greater prosperity.
These were the Minister for Youth and Sports, Laisenia Titubou’s sentiments while closing his ministry’s Central/Eastern Division youth conference and awards on Friday night.
Mr Tuitubou said the two-day conference reaffirmed the special place young people occupied in the nation’s development, the need to connect with them and hear their voice.
The awards honoured young entrepreneurs from the division.
Winner for the Eastern divisional youth entrepreneurship award, Natumua Youth Club president, Saimoni Tagica said, their club had been active with their current projects in the village.
“Our major project so far is the construction of the footpath in the village,” Mr Tagica said.
Currently there are 30 members based in Natumua Village in Tavuki, Kadavu.
Other projects in the pipeline for the club this year is yaqona farming and a solar project.
Mr Tagica was grateful to the Government especially the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
About 200 youths from the Eastern and Central division were part of the two day conference held during the week.
