253 tourists have arrived from the capital city of Taiwan, Taipei, on a chartered flight yesterday morning.

The tour was organised by Z Travel based in Taiwan and the ground work was handled by Rosie Holidays.

The group was received by Rosie Holidays and is being hosted at the ShangriLa’s Fijian Resort & Spa.

The Rosie Holidays general manager, Eroni Paumua said this was the second group for the month.

The third  group will arrive from China tonight.

He said the first group for the month had arrived with 308 guests.

Meanwhile, the ShangriLa’s Fijian Resort and Spa’s general manager, Francis Lee had earlier confirmed the arrival of the group.

He said the Chinese market was at peak currently and the idea was to tab on it further.

“We want them to come and see our beautiful country and not only enjoy and beaches but learn about Fiji,” Mr Lee said.

Mr Lee also stated that the group would also be visiting other hotels as per their choice.

“The tourism market in China is huge and this market is here to stay and get better,” Mr Lee said.

Taipei city is a special municipality of Taiwan.
