Defence lawyer Aman Ravindra-Singh for letter writer, Josaia Waqabaca, was given more time by the court to file his voir dire grounds.

Voir dire is a preliminary examination to determine the competency of a witness or juror.

Mr Singh was not present in court yesterday.

The court was informed that he was engaged in another hearing.

Waqabaca is jointly charged with The Fiji Times publisher Hank Arts, its editor – in – chief Fred Wesley, Nai Lalakai editor Anare Ravula with inciting communal antagonism.

State prosecutor, assistant Director of Public Prosecution, Lee Burney, told the court that Mr Singh had failed to file his voir dire grounds weeks ago.

Justice Thushara Rajasinghe gave Mr Singh time till next Tuesday to inform the court if he was still filing his voir dire grounds.Bail was extended for the four accused.

The case has been adjourned to February 7, for mention.
