Potter, Adi Scoop Top Spots

Edward Potter and Adi Litia were the Top Male and Female anglers at the 2017 Tuna Levu Classics in Denarau last weekend.
Potter on board Momo Gem settled with 382.4 points while Adi Litia on Rouge had 103.8.
Denarau Game and Sport Fishing Club secretary, Jared Wood said yesterday it was a successfully first up tournament for the year.
“The Tuna Levu Classics pulled 11 boats, 37 anglers (including two ladies and one junior) were blessed with good weather and good fish,” he told SUNsports.
The fleet consisted of six big boats, the main stayers Lunasea and Rouge and a big welcome back for Hoodlum, Freelance IceT and Momo Gem.
The small boats were Fruit Loop, Blo, Witch Doctor, Tainui and Octomokti.
“Last Saturday, the first day, saw T&R Sailfish (Mike Rohan on IceT), a boated Marlin (The Butcher) also landed eight tuna and a couple of mahi-mahi,” he said.
“Adi Litia landed her first ever fish, a 51.9kg yellow fin tuna and the only junior in the competition, Patrick Spillane of Fruit Loop landed a 13.8kg yellow fin on a 15kg line.”
Wood added that last Sunday saw 15 tuna being landed as it weighed between 19.9kg to 64.7kg.
Duncan Rutherford (Freelance) came close with a 64.7kg on 37 and Anthony Jakeman, last year’s winner brought in a 59.9kg tuna on 37.
A beautiful 20.7kg mahi-mahi caught by Jeff Kickbusch of Witch Doctor on a 24kg line was the largest for the tournament and Phil Richards of Blo landed a 12.9kg wahoo on 15kg line.
