A 33 year old man who fled the scene of an alleged fatal accident last night was arrested this morning by officers from the Ba Police Station.

The suspect is alleged to have driven a vehicle that tumbled several times along the Kings Road in Nailaga Ba last night resulting in the death of a 30 year old man.

Also traveling in the vehicle were two women aged 22 and 19 years old. All three victims were conveyed to the Ba Mission Hospital by bystanders whereby the 30 year old of Varoko was pronounced dead on arrival.

The driver fled the scene of the accident and an overnight search resulted in his arrest this morning at his home in Nailaga, Ba.

The fact that the vehicle allegedly tumbled several times before landing in the compound of a 49 year old also damaging the front porch of the home is likely due to speeding however this will be determined by investigators.

We are once again requesting all road users to be cautious and be mindful of the need to be safe at all times.

The current road death toll stands at 5 compared to 5 for the same period last year.
