Suva football coach Nathan Shivam admitted they would not be ready to face Ba in their opening match of the Vodafone Premier League this Sunday at the ANZ Stadium.

This was after senior players failed to turn up for training in the last two weeks.

“Last week we didn’t have the numbers but it was sad to see senior players not attending,” Shivam said.

“ Players like Nikhil Chand, Poasa Bainivalu and Emori Ragata are not turning up and we cannot have this kind of preparation especially when you playing against Ba.”

He admitted the ‘Men in Black’ would be prepared since they were gearing for the O-League.

Despite the challenge, he former Suva midfielder is confident they would give the visitors a good run

“Ba are training for the O-League compared to us, we are not a well prepared team.

“We will definitely give Ba a good run,” he said.

The 32-year old represented Suva from 2011 to 2013 and the highlight of his career was when he scored the winning goal against Ba in the 2012 Vodafone Fijian FACT in the final  to end Suva’s 17 years drought.

He was part of the Fiji Futsal team from 2009 till 2011 before joining Suva. He retired in 2013 after a knee injury.
