Tiara Dutta is the new headgirl of Jai Narayan College in Suva.

The Year 13 student, was badged during the school’s prefect induction ceremony.

The 18-year-old said her leadership skills and knowledge will help her build her career as an accountant in the future.

“Firstly I thank God for the opportunity and I know He has his blessing upon me to help me go through the roller coaster rides throughout this year.

“Another responsibility is now added upon my shoulder and I know how exactly I will be managing it.

“When it will be the time to study, I will study and when it’s time to lead, I will lead.

“I will just have to sacrifice a few things which doesn’t matter more than what I should be doing and manage my time well than previously,” Tiara said.

She said her teachers, parents and classmates have been very supportive of her.

“I have been given a lot of encouragement from my teachers and parents and most of all the support and co-operation from my classmates and fellow students was what helped me to stand in this position to lead the students of this college,” Tiara said.
