Another house at Waila has been destroyed by fire less than 48 hours after another burned down on Wednesday.

A family of 10 are left homeless after a devastating blaze completely destroyed their home at Waila Feeder Road in Nausori yesterday morning.

“I don’t know where to go from here.

“Everything is gone, all my baby’s nappies and clothes that I had bought are all burnt,” said Natasha Khan, mother of seven.

She adopted two of her deceased elder sister’s children and gave birth to her baby daughter on Wednesday after seven years gap.

“Yesterday, we got the good news and today it’s the bad news, I don’t know what to say and do from now. We need prayers.”

The family was inside their home when the fire happened.

They managed to escape safely.

The National Fire Authority (NFA), fought through the blaze after the corrugated iron and timber house was engulfed in flames.

According to the NFA, a call was received at 10.57am at the Nausori Fire Station.

They responded and arrived at 11.08am to the site.

The NFA said an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fire.

In the earlier incident, a family of five was also homeless on Wednesday after their two bedroom house was fully burnt down.

Faizal Ali, 23 said he was thankful that none of his family members were killed.

“I lost everything in the fire, all my items worth over $6000, but I am happy that we are alive,” he said.

His wife, Rosylyn Kavita, 34 is six months pregnant and they have three children.

Mr Ali said that now they don’t have anything left and they pray to God to help them.
