Aman Ravindra-Singh, lawyer of Iranian refugee,  has confirmed the deportation of his client, Loghman Sawari.

“We were stopped on our way to Suva this morning.”

At the Nadi Airport, Mr Sawari was escorted by Immigration officials.

He was seen crying on his way to the Air Niugini flight to Port Moresby.

The flight departed at 8am.

The Sydney Morning Herald had reported last week that Mr Sawari entered Fiji under a false name.

The issue was raised in the Papua New Guinea Parliament yesterday.

Oro Governor Gary Juffa, during Question Time,  said he was informed that the Mr Sawari had used a Papua New Guinea passport to enter Fiji.
