Labasa last won the league in 2007 and Ba has registered the most wins recording 20 victories

The ‘Babasiga Lions’ and Dreketi teams have their eyes fixed on the Vodafone Premier League title this year.

Labasa captain Akuila Mataisuva said they hope to end their 10-year drought in 2017.

“It has been awhile and we are working so hard to win the title,”Mataisuva said.

“We hope to step up our performance from last season.”

Labasa last won the league in 2007 and Ba has registered the most wins recording 20 victories.

Labasa play their first game against Lautoka at Subrail Park tomorrow.

“It’s going to be a tough but we want to start the campaign on a high note,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dreketi representative Ashneel Raju said they look forward to play the sugar city side on Sunday.

“This is the second year we are participating in the league and aim to improve our performance.

“We want to start on a positive note this weekend,” Raju said.
