A man who allegedly stoned a Police vehicle and attacked officers will take his plea next month, the court heard yesterday.

Demesi Atulaga, 24, appeared before Magistrate Jioji Boseiwaqa at the Suva Magistrates Court.

Atulaga has yet to get a lawyer to represent him from the Legal Aid Commission.

He is charged with two counts each of damaging property, serious assault and one count of resisting arrest.

It is alleged that on December 22, 2016, Atulaga stoned a Police vehicle and assaulted Detective Sergeant Josua Daveta, by throwing a stone at him.

It is further alleged that he damaged Constable Manasa Bainimarama’s wrist watch and assaulted Special Constable Saimone Ratu by biting his right index finger.

The state prosecution was represented by Police prosecutor, Sergeant Temesi Evo.

The case has been adjourned to February 16, for plea.
