The Zhong Hua School headgirl Adi Alesi Kamaiwaqa yesterday vowed at the school assembly that she would be a good leader for the students.

“To my fellow prefects our journey has just began, I assure you it won’t be plain sailing but I  promise to become a good leader,” the 13-year-old said.

“Your patience will be tested, but your ability to make sound judgement should always get the best of you.”

The Year Eight student originally from Nailega Village in Tailevu was inducted as a head girl during the prefects’ badging ceremony.

Adi Alesi credited her selection to the leadership role to her parents and acknowledged God for navigating her life.

She also acknowledged the school in entrusting her with this responsibility.

“I thank the school for choosing me and trusting me to lead my fellow students. Today we write our own story let us join hands but put our differences aside and strive for the betterment of our school.

“I know this will mould us into a stronger leader, stronger person but most of all better individual,” she said.

Headboy Phillip Josaia Miller was chosen alongside 34 school prefects and said he was privileged to be given the responsibility along with the other fellow leaders who are leaders in their own right.

The school has a total roll of more than 300 students.
