Mikkelson On How To Beat Fiji
Veteran New Zealand 7s forward Tim Mikkelson said they have to dominate the kick-offs if they are to beat the Vodafone Fijians in today’s Cup quarterfinals.
Speaking after their 14-7 win over Scotland last night, Mikkelson said the Fijians are a quality side.
“We will have to do the basics right,” he said.
The Kiwis won all their three pool matches to top Pool C while the Osea Kolinisau-led side came second in Pool B after they suffered a shocking 28-15 loss to Wales. However, they recovered and scored a big 31-7 win over France to qualify.
Today’s Cup quarterfinals see England take on Argentina followed by Fiji’s showdown against New Zealand while USA face South Africa with the final clash between Wales and Australia.
