The Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) anticipates an exciting competition in the final round of the Nines tournament to be staged at Prince Charles Park, Nadi on Saturday.

The first two rounds of the competition were dominated by Western clubs with Burenitu Cowboys and Namatakula Tigers winning respectively.

FNRL operations manager Joeli Savou said yesterday they were expecting the competition to be competitive this Saturday.

“Ravoravo a team from Sabeto are raring to go and hoping to do well in the competition. Burenitu Cowboys have also been preparing well. The second round winner Namatakula will be filling in three teams so it should be a good game,” Savou said.

Following the Nines tournament will be the inauguration of the pre-season competition in the five zones. The zones are Suva/ Nasinu, Ra, Nadroga, Navosa and Lautoka/Nadi.

“We have told teams that they will only participate in the season if they compete in the pre-season games.”

The winners of the Nines competition will receive $1500 while runners-up will get $500 and the Plate winners will pocket $400.
