The management of Victoria Marine Limited (VML) has made a general apology to all their passengers following the delay in departure of their vessel MV Brianna at Port Mua-i-Walu last Wednesday, February 1.

A passenger of the vessel, who wished to remain anonymous, said the vessel than left for the Northern and Upper Southern Lau last Friday February, 3 – two days behind schedule.

“The vessel should have left Suva on Wednesday, we don’t know what caused the delay,” the passenger said.

VML company managing director, Josataki Tagi, confirmed that there was a delay of the trip – and that they had informed their passengers.

MrTagi explained that the reason for the delay was because their franchise contract for the Northern and Southern Lau had expired.

However, Mr Tagi said there was some paper work  that they were needed to be submitted to the Ministry of Works and Transport.

The company thanked the ministry concerned for giving them the green light last Friday to carry on with the services temporarily.
