Member of Parliament Balmindar Singh who was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm had his case dismissed by the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.

The matter was called before Magistrate Waleen George.

Singh on December 30, last year in Suva allegedly assaulted Avinesh Naidu.

Complainant, Mr Naidu was present in court and had informed the court that he had reconciled with Singh, without any conditions or payments.

Magistrate George told Singh that he had no right to assault anyone.

“Make this the last time you assault anyone,” said Magistrate George.

The state was represented by Police prosecutor, Sergeant Faruk Mohammed and Singh was represented by defence lawyer, Avinesh Reddy.
