Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School headboy Pawan Prasad said he would like to see the traditional discipline of the school maintained.

“I want to maintain the discipline that MGM High School already has,” the newly inducted Year 13 student said.

Freshly badged headgirl Vintishna Singh echoed Pawan’s desire and said she would like to see the school’s strictness continued.

“As a headgirl, I want to maintain the discipline of MGM High School,” the Year 13 student said.

Both school heads said they wanted to be role models at the Vatuwaqa school.

“I feel proud and happy to be the headboy of MGM High School,” Pawan said.

“As a headboy of MGM High School, I will frequently liaise with students to know and discuss their problems and other related issues.”

Pawan said he desired all the students looked up to him as a leader and not solely as a friend.

Vintishna said: “Being a headgirl is totally different role for me and I have to be careful and responsible as I have lot of duties bestowed on me and I have to fulfil that.

“The role of headgirl will make me know the importance of leadership roles which will help me a lot in future.”

MGM High School student council president Nehaal Sharma said: “I feel honoured to be the president of MGM High School student council.

“It’s a big responsibility for me and it will be fun working with the school.

“We had great MGM High School student council presidents and who set good examples and I want to follow in their footsteps.”

Deputy headgirl Natasha Kumar and deputy headboy Immanuel Molia said they would work together to support the school headboy and headgirl to maintain discipline in the school.

MGM High School Year Nine form prefect Bhavesh Singh said: “I am excited to be a student of MGM High School and it’s only few weeks that I have joined the high school and it’s interesting.

“I would like my class to be the best form in school.”

Another Year 9 prefect Nishtha Kanti said: “I will work towards maintaining discipline in my class.”
