Headgirl Works On Holidays To Help Family

While most students enjoy their school holidays Ledua Vosalala earns money to help make ends meet for her family.
She even goes further to help her mum make and sell roti parcels and pies wherever they can.
The Andhra Sangam College headgirl said she did this to help make life better for her family.
Of Samoa decent, Vosalala, 19, said she had a lot of praise for her dad, Iliapotilley Tautalaso, 41, who goes out diving for fish everyday to make a living for the family.
“My grandfather came from Solosolo in Western Samoa to settle in Fiji,” she said.
Her mum hails from Natawa Village on Waya Island in Yasawa and does the domestic chores at home.
“During the school holidays, I do babysitting at Malolo in Nadi and stay with the family I work for,” she said.
“This is to help with income for the family because I love my family,” she said.
Ledua said she plans to become a nurse and wanted her father to stay home and rest because he had worked really hard for the family.
Headboy Yash Mani, 17, eyes the University of the South Pacific to pursue a degree in civil engineering.
Mani, the eldest in his family of two praised the school system at ASC saying the face to face teaching adopted by the institution was working well with the students.
The son of a taxi proprietor said he was also proud of his mum who was a chef at a local resort.
