Nathan Lilo is Headboy

It was a very proud moment for Nathan Lilo, 18, as he was inducted as the headboy of Marist Brothers High School yesterday.
“It feels great to be in this position and I’m looking forward to doing my best” he said.
The young man from Beqa attributes his success to his parents especially his mum for being there for him while his dad is abroad.
He also thanked his grandfather and family.
It was an emotional and exciting moment for his mother, Viti Lilo, hearing her eldest son’s name announced as the headboy.
“Today’s event didn’t come as a surprise, I knew he was going to be a leader one day,” said Mrs Lilo.
She admitted that it wasn’t an easy road getting a place at the school for her son and she was overjoyed when she got the call the night before about his induction.
Parents, guardians, and friends turned out in large numbers for the induction. Students serenaded the audience and entertained them.
Chief guest at the ceremony, Ratu Seremaia Cavuilati, thanked parents for grooming their sons. Marist Brothers High school has a roll of about 800 students from Year 9 to 13 and a staff of 42. Fifty-five prefects were inducted at the school’s Lambert Hall yesterday.
