Tui Lawa Ratu Sevanaia Vatunitu on Friday reminded the newly inducted prefects of the two schools in Solevu Village that leaders were meant to serve.

“I want to emphasise that leaders are meant to serve, the badge given to you is not for show off and bully,” Ratu Sevanaia said.

“If you listen to your parent then obviously you can listen to your teachers and you will make yourself, teacher and parents proud.”

Ratu Sevanaia was speaking as the chief guest at the prefects induction of the Malolo District School and the Ratu Lalabalavu Memorial School (RLMS).

Malolo District is the primary school which is a feeder school to RLMS.

Both schools are in the same compound at Solevu Village.

A total of 40 students were badged to lead the respective schools with 28 prefects for Malolo Disctrict School and 12 prefects for the RLMS.

Malolo District School has a roll of 170 students while Ratu Lalabalavu Memorial School has 35 students.

Meanwhile, former student and current Vodafone national 7s winger Nacanieli Labalaba was given the honour to badge part of the student council.

He said he was overwhelmed to be given such an honour.

He stressed that students need to be following a good example at all times.
