Vakabula Vanua Starts Work at Verata Village

Verata Village of Wailevu in Tailevu will be undergoing spiritual cleansing work of the Healing the Land Ministry team or Vakabula Vanua.
Ministry director Savenaca Nakauyaca confirmed they would be conducting a similar cleansing exercise which the team recently took part at Tavualevu Village, Tavua.
He said the Tavualevu Village incident may have caused friction, but it would not stop them from doing their work.
The ministry under the direction of the Tui Tavua, Ratu Nacanieli Nauqeuqe, had destroyed a monument built by the Methodist Church.
Skulls (ashes) were said to be buried beneath the monument. Police had to intervene to maintain peace in the village.
In Verata, the ministry was invited by the Tui Tuvou, Ratu Alipate Raicebe Cavulati.
The Tui Tuvou’s eldest son, Sevuloni Vasukicakau, 58, said they were thankful to the Vakabula Vanua Ministry for visiting them.
He said all the members of the ‘Mataqali of Vunivaivai’, welcomed the ‘Vakabula Vanua’ ministry.
He said there were four clans (mataqali) in Verata Village.
“Most villagers are against the Healing the Land Ministry team, but the Tui Tuvou wants the ‘vanua to be prosperous and the people to be saved,” he said.
He also said people may have different ways of looking at things.
“There will always be enemies when something good is happening,” he said
The ministry’s programme ends next Sunday.
