Koroi Dedicates Badge To Father

The role is not an easy role: Tuwai
Lami High School student leaders are praying for the best this year in their duties.
Headboy, Jimi Koroi said he would leave every challenge to the Lord.
“I know the role won’t be an easy one, but I will make sure I don’t let my teachers down,” he said.
The 18-year-old said he owed all his success and achievements to his father.
“We don’t have lights, and sometime there is no water at home and it’s only my father that is working in our family.
“So for me, the struggle is real,” he said.
Mr Koroi is aiming for a place in the Toppers Scholarship next year.
“I need to help my Dad and I will make sure I achieve the best, and get a scholarship,” he said.
Meanwhile, Headgirl, Siteri Tuwai said she was very excited and nervous at the same time, “the role is not an easy role.”
“I’m dedicating this badge to my parents who has been there for me through thick and thin also my grandfather.
“He was the one who has encouraged me and moulded me to strive hard and to become something in life.
“I hope he was alive to have witnessed my achievement today,” she said.
Ms Tuwai added that there would be a lot of competition in the school this year and she needed to balance her leadership role with her studies.
“Trying to concentrate on both would be really tough,” she said.
She also aimed for a scholarship next year to help her parents.
