ANZ Bank Fiji yesterday revealed the sixth ANZ Fashion ATM downtown Nadi, featuring veteran local designer, Hupfeld Hoerder.

Mr Hoerder is of Rotuman-German decent and has worked in the local fashion industry for over 25 years.

This ANZ Fashion ATM shows his unique hand-painted print, often replicated in vibrant colours.

“My designs promote a strong sense of the Pacific, incorporating culture, identity and heritage,” Mr Hoerder said.

“I also try to use natural fibres and create authentic designs that reflect the colours and the diversity of the Pacific.”

Most of Mr Hoerder’s garments are exclusive designs and made-to-measure.

He specialises in the area of casual resort-wear and haute couture.

Mr Hoerder has represented Fiji in the Islands of the World Fashion Week in the Bahamas in 2010 where selected pieces of his collection were photographed and circulated in fashion magazines in New York.

Mr Hoerder also represented Fiji at Style Pasifika Fashion Show in New Zealand as part of the Real New Zealand Festival and the Rugby World Cup in October 2011.

The ANZ Fashion ATM initiative is a part of a broader partnership between ANZ and the Fashion Council of Fiji to help connect local designers to business opportunities.

Fashion ATMs have been revealed across Fiji over the last two weeks leading up to the prestigious ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards being held in Nadi on 18 February 2017, where guests are being encouraged to wear ‘Fijian Made’.

Other Fashion ATMs revealed this month are located at Namaka featuring 8Mountains, ANZ House in Suva, featuring Samson Lee, Tappoo City (Suva Market side), featuring Ilai Tokoiono, Tappoo City ANZ Branch, featuring Robert Kennedy, and MH Flagstaff, featuring Epeli Tuibeqa.
